For the first day, we visited Huanglong which is about 50km away from the JiuHuang airport. Huanglong is one of the UNESCO listed natural world heritage sites and is well known for its colorful ponds.
On the way to Huanglong, our lunch... Views from the bus... Roads had been destroyed during the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake and were under construction. At The Snow Ridge, we stopped for some photos. Arrived at Huanglong. At the main entrance of Huanglong...
We didn't enter Huanglong scenic spot using the main entrance, we took cable car.
There is a cable car at Huanglong, we took the cable car and reached to a higher altitude viewing platform. There is a walkway connected to the viewing platform which we walked for about 1 hour and reached to an intersection of the main gate path. Then just a short walk up, we'll reached to the upper ponds. After some photos snapping, we walked down to the main gate which is about 4-5km long.
Inside the cable car...
Cable car stopped at a higher altitude viewing platform. We still need to walk for less than 1 hour to reach to an intersection path with the main gate path.
Taking photos at the highest viewing platform.
After some rest and photo taking, walked along the path at the other side to go back to the main entrance. This is middle ancient temple which can only see along the path go back to main entrance. There is a rest house which served food. There were some people still climbing up during the time we walked down. We were impressed seeing some guys carrying heavy woods, stones and sands for the walkway construction. Taking some rest after walked for quite some time. A store selling drinks and some souvenirs. Oxygen available for some people who needs it... Nice and beautiful view of the colors ponds along the path...
Still walking down the path to the main entrance... Nice mountains and ponds view... Buy some drinks while walking towards our bus...
On the way back to hotel, the bus stopped for some rest... View from the bus... Our hotel... stayed here for 2 nights. Our dinner at the hotel...
