Chengdu - Panda Card

During our visit to Chengdu on August 2009, Chengdu tourism was doing a promotion to attract more tourist by introducing Panda Card since March 2009. We purchased our Gold Panda Card from Hongqi Supermarket (红旗连锁店) for only RMB1 per passport. As a Gold Panda Card holder, we can get the free entrance to 11 scenic spots until end of 2009, I'm not sure what is the current promotion for 2010. The card was needed to be activated before use, we just made a phone call and provided the card number & name for validation.

For each of the 11 scenic spots, there was another counter at the entrance especially for Panda Card holder. we were required to go to this counter to swipe our Panda Card and get a free entrance ticket. Passport was needed for validation and each tourist was only entitled 1 free entrance for each of the scenic spot.

The 11 scenic spots are:

1. Tiantai Shan (天台山)
2. Dujiangyan (都江堰)
3. Qingcheng Shan (青城山)
4. Liu's Manor (刘氏庄园)
5. Xiling Snow Mountain (西岭雪山前山)
6. Xiling Snow Mountain Ski Area (西岭雪山滑雪场)
7. Giant Panda Research Base(熊猫基地)
8. Wuhou Temple (武侯祠)
9. Jinsha Museum (金沙遗址博物馆)
10. Dufu's Cottage (杜甫草堂 )
11. Yong's Mausoleum (永陵博物馆 )
